About this role

Orano Med Theranostics seeks a Senior Synthetic Chemist passionate about ensuring the highest standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment where your work directly impacts clinical trial success. Join a dynamic, mission-driven organization transforming oncology from the inside out.

The Synthetic Chemist manufactures products inside a traditional chemistry lab, supporting the business catalog, custom synthesis business, and GMP business. Key responsibilities include developing methods to synthesize compounds and providing internal technical guidance. Propose solutions to complex chemistry problems and act as a backup for chemists as needed.

Research and design multi-step synthetic routes for targeted compounds with fundamental familiarity in classic reaction mechanisms and principles. Optimize reaction conditions, troubleshoot synthetic challenges, and characterize products using NMR, LC-MS, LC-QTOF techniques. Perform extractions, crystallizations, chromatographic separations, and operate standard chemistry equipment.

Provide technical guidance to the Macrocyclics team for problem solving and generate ideas for new compounds in radio imaging, radiotherapy, and fluorescent applications. Collaborate with colleagues across project teams to ensure timely deliverables. Mentor and develop other chemists in a supportive team environment.

Seeking your next challenge as a Senior Synthetic Chemist offers a chance to grow within Orano, contributing to high-performing products throughout the nuclear fuel cycle and innovative applications.
