About this role
The Senior Manager, Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry develops, implements, and leads advanced analytical science to support food and beverage ingredient and product development. This role serves as a subject matter expert in analytical chemistry, providing technical leadership in complex molecular characterization, unknown identification, structural elucidation, and analytical problem solving. Deep hands-on expertise translates complex data into actionable business insights.
Daily responsibilities include designing, optimizing, and validating analytical methods for routine, non-routine, and investigative studies. Lead MS-centric investigations for unknowns, impurities, and degradants while applying advanced techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis. Engage internal clients to define needs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
Work independently to lead investigations and conduct testing supporting R&D and commercialization in a global organization. Mentor a small team of professionals and supervise contract workers or junior staff. Manage analytical instrumentation for optimal performance.
Build new analytical capabilities, including automation, data analytics, and digital workflows across global R&D. Organize projects by setting priorities, managing workflows, and meeting timelines. Search scientific literature to drive innovation and problem solving.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with advanced analytical instrumentation
- Deep expertise in advanced analytical techniques including MS-centric approaches
- Proven ability to lead unknown identification, structural elucidation, and molecular characterization
