Join our Cambridge-based team as a dynamic Senior Principal Scientist, Lab Head Medicinal Chemistry.

Deliver high quality synthetic drugs of varying modalities to improve patient lives through innovation and key enabling technologies. Drive discovery of synthetic small molecules and emerging modalities as drug candidates in the Sanofi Research Portfolio. Provide high quality science and innovative approaches in a collaborative organization with broad pipeline impact.

Apply deep scientific expertise to initiate, design, and direct medicinal chemistry supporting research goals. Lead multidisciplinary drug discovery as an experienced team leader and manager of medicinal chemists. Analyze, interpret, and communicate scientific content to teams and stakeholders effectively.

Demonstrate continuous growth in scientific knowledge aligned with strategic goals. Build reputation through high impact publications, collaborations, and conference participation. Flourish in an innovative global healthcare company chasing miracles of science to improve lives.

Requirements

PhD in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry with 7+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical environment
Or Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry with 9+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical environment
Or Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical environment
Exceptional technical skills and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative cross-functional team setting
Proven ability to analyze complex data sets, draw conclusions, and design follow-on experiments
Experience in all phases of the small molecule discovery process

Responsibilities

Lead medicinal chemistry teams with a proven track record of success in multidisciplinary drug discovery
Initiate, design, and direct medicinal chemistry in support of research goals using deep scientific expertise
Analyze, interpret, and communicate scientific content to teams and stakeholders
Demonstrate continuous growth in depth and breadth of scientific knowledge and understanding of strategic goals
Contribute impactfully and lead project teams and transverse initiatives
Manage and mentor other medicinal chemists supportively
Build external reputation through high impact publications, productive collaborations, and conference participation
