Treeline Biosciences, a clinical-stage biotechnology company advancing precision medicines, seeks an experienced small molecule process chemist. The role drives development, scale-up, and commercial readiness of the small molecule clinical-stage portfolio. It centers on close collaboration with the medicinal chemistry team within discovery.

The scientist leads from the bench, designing and executing synthetic strategies for drug discovery programs. Focus areas include route invention, reaction development, and scalable synthesis of key intermediates and drug candidates. Responsibilities emphasize modern synthetic methodologies and efficient route design for early scalability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Medicinal Chemistry, DMPK, Toxicology, Drug Product, and Analytical Sciences. Develop practical routes supporting SAR exploration and material delivery for biological and toxicology studies. Manage external partners to support program objectives.

Enable drug discovery through innovative synthetic strategy and solve complex synthetic challenges. Translate discovery chemistry into scalable processes for clinical supply. Advance cross-disciplinary progress toward therapeutic innovation and commercial readiness.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or related discipline
  • Relevant industry or postdoctoral experience in process chemistry
  • Expertise in route invention, reaction development, and scalable synthesis
  • Proficiency in modern synthetic methodologies for complex molecules
  • Experience designing practical routes for SAR exploration and early scale-up
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional discovery teams
  • Knowledge of early CMC considerations including impurity identification

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medicinal chemistry partners to support candidate selection and developability assessments
  • Design and execute route scouting and synthetic strategies for drug candidates and key intermediates
  • Design and optimize chemical transformations and scalable synthetic routes for discovery programs
  • Enable rapid compound synthesis and methodologies to support SAR campaigns and discovery timelines
  • Apply modern synthetic technologies to address complex synthetic challenges
  • Support multi-gram to kilogram-scale synthesis for biological and toxicology studies
  • Manage external partners and cultivate strong collaborative relationships
  • Communicate results through technical reports, documentation, and presentations
