About this role

Enveda is looking for an Asst. Vice President, Medicinal Chemistry to join the team in Hyderabad, India. You will demonstrate a track record of delivery of hits, leads and clinical candidates advancing into human clinical trials. As a member of the Drug Discovery team, you report to the SVP, Discovery Chemistry.

You will recruit PhD and M.Sc. synthetic chemists, mentor them as medicinal chemists, manage performance and improve productivity. Collaborate with peers in Medicinal Chemistry to increase delivery of compounds to Enveda's Clinical Pipeline. Partner with Senior Leaders in ADME, Analytical Sciences and Pharmacology to deliver high value molecules.

Engage in Medicinal Chemistry for Lead Generation and Lead Optimization of Pipeline Projects. Understand Structure Activity Relationships and Structure Property Relationships across projects. Collaborate with Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Analytical, ADME and Site Leadership teams.

Develop flow schemes of relevant in vitro and in vivo assays for maximum cost effectiveness. Work effectively with Project Management and make presentations at Enveda forums. Emphasize safe practices in chemistry laboratories with the site safety head.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
  • 15-20 years of post-PhD experience in Medicinal Chemistry
  • Proven track record of delivery of hits, leads and clinical candidates
  • Management and mentoring of synthetic chemists
  • Good understanding of intellectual property of medicinally valuable compounds
  • Strong understanding of safety practices in organic synthesis laboratories
