About this role

Are you a synthetic chemistry expert eager to shape the future of AI? Large-scale language models are evolving into powerful engines of scientific discovery. With high-quality training data, tomorrow’s AI can democratize world-class education and streamline lab work for scientists everywhere.

We need synthetic chemistry specialists who live and breathe organic synthesis, reaction mechanism design, stereochemistry, retrosynthetic analysis, organometallic chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, catalysis, and structure-activity relationships. You’ll challenge advanced language models on multi-step synthesis planning, protecting group strategies, asymmetric catalysis, reagent selection, total synthesis of natural products, reaction optimization, and functional group transformations.

On a typical day, converse with the model on synthetic pathways and theoretical chemistry questions. Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness, capture reproducible error traces, and document every failure mode to harden model reasoning. Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

A PhD in chemistry or closely related field is ideal, with peer-reviewed publications or laboratory synthesis experience signaling fit. Clear, metacognitive communication—showing your work—is essential. Turn your synthetic chemistry expertise into the knowledge base for tomorrow’s AI.

Requirements

  • Expertise in organic synthesis, reaction mechanism design, stereochemistry, and retrosynthetic analysis
  • Knowledge of organometallic chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, catalysis, and structure-activity relationships
  • PhD in chemistry or closely related physical or life-science field (ideal)
  • Peer-reviewed publications, laboratory synthesis experience, or applied chemical development projects
  • Clear, metacognitive communication—showing your work

Responsibilities
