About this role
We are looking to fill a Principal Scientist level position as a full-time employee of Parexel on assignment of 1-2 years onsite at a client. This role offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This position does not offer any sponsorship.
The Chemical Engineering Research and Development department seeks a motivated and technically focused chemist to develop and optimize chemical process steps. These combine typical chemical engineering unit operations used in specialty chemical and pharmaceutical industries, such as reactions, extractions, distillations, crystallizations, filtrations, and drying. The individual works as part of project teams on chemical processes to bring new APIs through the R&D pipeline from early through late-stage development.
This is largely a laboratory-based role supporting chemical process development at scales from grams to multi-kilogram. The focus is understanding scale-up issues, improving process robustness, quality, safety, environmental footprint, and yield, while troubleshooting issues, optimizing, and delivering process intermediates and/or APIs. The role requires working in the lab with various chemicals using manual and automated laboratory reactors, equipment, and process/analytical instruments.
Deskwork involves planning, analysis, and documentation of laboratory experiments, along with writing clear and concise reports. Each contributor at Parexel advances the development of therapies that benefit patients. The role offers fast-paced, hands-on research requiring a high degree of technical skills and contributions.
