About this role
The research group of Professor Xin Cui at the University of North Texas invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position. This role focuses on exploring new approaches in catalysis and their applications in synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
The postdoctoral project involves work in synthetic organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and homogeneous catalysis, including asymmetric catalysis as a significant component. The scientist will also provide instruction and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students involved in the research.

Requirements
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field
- Strong background and hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry
- Experience with organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis
- Familiarity with asymmetric catalysis techniques
- Ability to mentor and instruct graduate and undergraduate students
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in synthetic organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and homogeneous catalysis
- Perform asymmetric catalysis as a significant component of the postdoctoral project
- Explore organometallic and bio-inspired strategies to achieve new patterns of selectivity in bond activation and formation
- Provide instruction and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students involved in the research
- Contribute significantly to the preparation of grant proposals and scientific publications
- Enable practical and environmentally benign syntheses of biologically and pharmaceutically important molecules
