About this role

The Process Chemistry organization seeks highly motivated chemists for a fast-paced environment offering high technical responsibility. Successful candidates will design and develop efficient, scalable manufacturing routes and clinical supply processes for multi-modality drug substances including small molecules, macrocyclic peptides, and bioconjugates.

Day-to-day work involves researching and evaluating chemical routes, optimizing reaction conditions, and ensuring reproducibility at scale. The role requires conducting process demonstrations and tech transfers to internal facilities while supporting preclinical through clinical deliveries.

Team members collaborate on multidisciplinary projects across a diverse portfolio of modalities in a dynamic research setting. The position demands strong experimental skills and the ability to adapt quickly while driving continuous improvement and innovation within the group.

Candidates are expected to stay current with modern synthetic methodologies and engage with the external scientific community through publications and presentations. The role begins in 2026 and offers opportunities to solve complex problems with a proven track record of outstanding research.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in chemistry with experience in methodology/catalysis, total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, or flow chemistry.
  • Must have conducted outstanding research that may be shared during the interview process.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with exceptional experimental skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • High-level leadership and interpersonal skills with adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an expert in the laboratory, executing on program and chemistry strategy.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex chemistry problems across a diverse portfolio of projects and modalities.
  • Design and develop efficient processes for clinical campaigns through extensive reaction design and optimization.
  • Research and evaluate chemical routes while optimizing reaction conditions for scalability and reproducibility.
  • Conduct process demonstrations and tech transfers supporting preclinical through clinical deliveries.
  • Stay current with modern synthetic methodologies and drive continuous improvement and innovation within the group.
