About this role

The Synthetic Organic Chemistry Intern reports to a Principal Chemist and performs complex laboratory operations to develop new products and synthetic procedures. They perform organic synthesis experiments to make target molecule(s) within project specifications. They analyze synthesis reaction products to minimize residual reagents or solvents.

Work with R&D team to conduct research on reactions needed to develop new products. Run chemical reactions independently. Conduct testing for reaction products generated: analytical, qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical properties.

Operate required analytical instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, GPC, ball and ring. Organize and present information to facilitate data analytics, identifying unusual results, and optimizing processes. Optimize reaction pathways to develop the best manufacturing procedure for products under investigation.

SI Group is a global leader in innovative technology of performance additives, process solutions, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and chemical intermediates. Solutions are essential to diverse industries, enhancing quality, performance, and durability of everyday items. Customized approach exceeds customer needs and delivers superior performance.
