Core brands include Zig-Zag® rolling papers and wraps, Stoker’s® looseleaf chew and moist snuff. Products reach over 215,000 retail outlets in North America.
The Analytical Chemist conducts research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances for product and process development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologies. Routine analysis uses sophisticated equipment like Gas Chromatography, titration systems, and moisture meters. The role reports to the Director Corporate Quality Assurance with a 40-hour weekly shift.

Conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve them, prepare standards for flavors and raw materials, and advise on issues identified. Prepare technical papers and reports for supervisors and management. Solid cash flow supports brand growth and distribution expansion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. preferred in Biology or Chemistry) from four-year college or university
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Technical knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the tobacco industry and wet chemistry laboratory; hands-on experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform routine analysis in laboratory using Gas Chromatography, titration systems, moisture meters
- Maintain quality records for quality control of analytical methods
- Conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve products
- Conduct research into composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of matter
- Prepare technical papers and reports for supervisors and/or management
- Prepare standards and specifications for processes for various flavors and raw materials for manufacturing
- Advise Manager and/or Regulatory Affairs of any issues identified through scope of work
