The project involves multi-step organic synthesis of target molecules. Interns apply hands-on multi-step synthetic techniques and modern spectroscopic methods. This work immerses participants in Ionis' scientific environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a Chemistry major with experience in organic chemistry laboratory work
  • Knowledge of organic chemistry lab safety practices
  • Currently enrolled in a U.S. undergraduate and/or graduate degree program
  • Not graduating prior to completion of the internship
  • Able to begin between 6/8 and 8/14/2026
  • Able to remain through at least 8/14/2026
  • Willing to commit to a minimum 40-hour work week
