About this role

You are an expert in chemistry measurements who can build consensus with internal and industrial stakeholders. As a Market Development Manager, leverage your skills to drive growth and develop new markets for Anton Paar's microwave products for analytical and synthetic chemistry, FTIR, and Raman products. The preferred location is at headquarters in Ashland, VA.

Pro-actively seek and develop sales opportunities for assigned portfolio across all markets and territories. Identify new business opportunities and growth areas, translating needs into short, medium, and long-range actionable plans. Initiate, plan, and execute complex development projects within deadlines aligned with business impact.

The base salary starts at $116,850/year, includes a bonus, full benefits, 401k profit sharing, and $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.

Requirements

  • Project management acumen and proactive approach toward compliance
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in large meetings
  • 5 years of experience in capital equipment sales, business development, or related science
  • Ability to travel up to 50% throughout the US and internationally
  • Valid driver's license and passport
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related science, or exceptional relevant industrial experience

Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively seek and develop sales opportunities for assigned portfolio across all assigned markets and territories
  • Identify new business opportunities and growth areas within the industry, setting the business case and translating business needs into short, medium, and long-range actionable plans
  • Initiate, plan, and execute complex development projects within predefined deadlines and aligned with business needs/impact
  • Present technical papers in regional, domestic and/or international conferences/meetings; may chair conferences
  • Build consensus with internal and industrial stakeholders on market strategies
  • Leverage chemistry knowledge to create and maintain business opportunities for microwave, FTIR, and Raman products
  • Navigate complex organizations to drive growth in analytical and synthetic chemistry markets
