The University of Michigan College of Pharmacy invites applications for Chair in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry. This includes an endowed faculty position at professor rank with tenure. Provide vision and leadership to faculty nationally and internationally recognized for innovative research and teaching.

Maintain and promote an enabling environment to foster advancement of innovative research, teaching, and service. Hold overall administrative responsibility for the Department. Participate in guidance and administration of the College.

Act as a representative of the College of Pharmacy. Work with faculty in a major research-intensive university setting. Embrace the College’s interdisciplinary and collaborative nature.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, computer science, or a related field
  • Distinguished record in research and education
  • Well-supported research program
  • Ability to develop programmatic collaborative research and external funding
  • Strong record of leadership in research and professional activities
  • Strong commitment to educational objectives of graduate, professional, and undergraduate programs
  • Embrace commitment to DEI and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Record of successful mentorship of faculty and trainees
