The Department of Natural Sciences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio invites applications for a full-time Instructional Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry, starting no later than Fall 2026. Teaching responsibilities include lecture and laboratory instruction in organic chemistry and entry-level courses, with a 4/4 load equaling 24 course credits per year. Faculty actively engage in chemistry curriculum development to achieve ACS accreditation, student success initiatives, and recruitment activities. Enhancing success in foundational courses is a university priority.

Chemistry is the newest degree program offering BS, BA, and BS with teacher certification degrees. The department provides hands-on, interdisciplinary experiences in Biology, Chemistry, and Water Resources Sciences & Technology. It prepares students for workforce entry, graduate, or professional programs.

As part of the Texas A&M University System, A&M-SA is a Hispanic-Serving Institution serving over 8,000 students, mostly Hispanic and first-generation. The university is growing toward R-2 research classification with new health sciences partnerships. Faculty contribute service to department, college, university, community, and profession.

Requirements

Responsibilities
