Proteros Biostructures seeks a highly skilled and innovative Director Medicinal Chemistry to join its drug discovery team. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in organic chemistry, drug design, and molecular modeling, with a track record for discovering and optimizing therapeutic compounds. This role is critical in early drug discovery stages.

Design and plan synthesis of novel chemical entities while analyzing structure-activity relationships. Optimize lead compounds for potency, selectivity, and pharmacokinetic properties. Guide tailored screening library design for small molecule hit generation campaigns.

Work closely with biologists, enabling technology experts, other chemists, customers, and internal Proteros teams. Lead project planning and decision-making processes. Excellent communication skills ensure successful collaboration.

Present research findings to internal teams and external customers. Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies. Develop synthetic routes through external partners for target molecules.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related field
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
Drug Discovery project leadership experience with a track record for delivery of drug candidates
Strong knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry
Familiarity with molecular modeling and cheminformatics tools
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities
