About this role
Parallel Squared Technology Institute (PTI) is a non-profit research institute aiming to catalyze a leap in protein analysis technology to explore new biological frontiers. Protein dysfunctions cause diseases like Alzheimer’s, yet proteins remain understudied due to technological hurdles. PTI develops mass tags for multiplexed protein analysis by mass spectrometry, targeting 100-fold throughput increase.
The Research Chemist will lead design of new labeling methods for mass tag development as an individual contributor with experience in small molecule/peptide labeling chemistries. This involves working with single cell ’omics pipelines, optimizing for LC-MS systems and downstream analysis. A cover letter is required for serious consideration.
The role is in a highly interdisciplinary team environment with scientists, engineers, and mathematicians. PTI supports open research and educational opportunities for rapid career development. Members lead projects with industry-level resources.
Discoveries will disseminate through publications, presentations, and public data portals to the biomedical community. Proof of principle technology is at parallelsq.org. Commit to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness in all interactions.
