The Natural Science department invites applications for a one-semester adjunct position to teach Organic Chemistry labs and/or Bioorganic Chemistry labs for Spring 2025. Applicants interested in one or multiple sections should indicate preference in their letter of interest. All teaching occurs in face-to-face modality.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in chemistry or a related discipline required
  • Experience with common organic and biochemistry chemistry lab techniques
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and common hazards in an organic and biochemistry lab
  • Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents

Responsibilities

  • Teach Organic Chemistry laboratory sections in face-to-face modality
  • Teach Bioorganic Chemistry laboratory sections in face-to-face modality
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives
  • Demonstrate common organic and biochemistry lab techniques to students
  • Supervise student lab work and manage common hazards
  • Ensure knowledge of laboratory safety in organic and biochemistry settings
  • Assess student performance through lab activities and reports
