The Natural Science department invites applications for a one-semester adjunct position to teach Organic Chemistry labs and/or Bioorganic Chemistry labs for Spring 2025. Applicants interested in one or multiple sections should indicate preference in their letter of interest. All teaching occurs in face-to-face modality.

Requirements

Master's degree in chemistry or a related discipline required
Experience with common organic and biochemistry chemistry lab techniques
Knowledge of laboratory safety and common hazards in an organic and biochemistry lab
Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents

Responsibilities

Teach Organic Chemistry laboratory sections in face-to-face modality
Teach Bioorganic Chemistry laboratory sections in face-to-face modality
Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives
Demonstrate common organic and biochemistry lab techniques to students
Supervise student lab work and manage common hazards
Ensure knowledge of laboratory safety in organic and biochemistry settings
Assess student performance through lab activities and reports
