About this role
Are you passionate about translating innovative chemistry into real-world medical impact? Join a pioneering project targeting age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss. Design and synthesize novel small molecules to solubilize drusen (lipid-protein deposits in the retina).
Your primary focus will be the rational design, synthesis, and characterization of small organic molecules for AMD. Develop structure-activity relationships, optimize lead compounds, and collaborate with biophysical and biomedical researchers to validate designs. Bridge organic synthesis with medical innovation.
Join the 2-year fully funded postdoctoral position in the Ocular Drug Delivery group at DTU Health Tech. Work in a dynamic research environment combining organic chemistry, drug delivery, and ocular disease modeling. Led by Andrew Urquhart in the Section for Cell and Drug Technologies.
Contribute to Open Science initiatives including data sharing and preprint publications. Present findings at international conferences and publish in high-impact journals. Mentor PhD, MSc, and BSc students while driving towards clinical translation.
