About this role
The Synthetic Chemist II designs, validates, and implements synthesis projects in organic synthesis, peptide synthesis, bioconjugation, purification, and characterization of compounds of interest. This role supports the Consumer Products Services Division, ATL Department. Reporting to the General Manager or Director ensures alignment with business objectives.
Day-to-day duties involve working closely with senior scientists to accomplish team objectives and research milestones. Maintain accurate record keeping, perform independent data analyses, and report data in written and oral formats. Critically evaluate data, troubleshoot synthesis issues, and follow good documentation practices.
Operate in a flexible, team-oriented lab environment and cross-functional project teams. Perform work in compliance with client policies, company Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental guidelines. Comply with management systems and appropriate regulatory agencies.
Deliver quality results in a timely manner through strong organizational skills and instrument maintenance. Build relationships with peers and supervisors while understanding industry practices. Flexibility in hours, typically Monday through Friday forty-hours per week, meets business needs.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and experience presenting data in a team environment
- Understanding of industry practices and standards
- Strong computer, scientific, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver quality results in a timely manner
- Instrument maintenance and performance qualification, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in organic synthesis, peptide synthesis, and bioconjugation techniques
- Experience in purification and characterization of compounds
- Strong relationship-building and interaction skills with peers and supervisors

Benefits
- Hourly compensation range of $36.00 - $41.00 per hour
