About this role

As a Technical Sales Consultant, you are a problem solver focused on customer needs, an entrepreneur with a sense for business and opportunity, and a consultant with relevant solutions in mind. You drive business growth in microwave-assisted synthesis, digestion, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy product lines as a key member of the East Region sales team. Your territory covers NJ, NY, and New England States, ideally based in New Jersey.

Day-to-day involves generating and developing new accounts while effectively managing existing ones. You present to small and large audiences, from C-suite executives to production managers and technicians. Expect up to 50-60% travel, including overnight, for meetings, demonstrations, and installations.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical sales, analytical instruments sales strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and business acumen
  • Ability to work independently and with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, natural sciences, or engineering preferred
  • Valid driver's license and passport
  • Familiarity with microwave-assisted synthesis, digestion, FTIR, or Raman spectroscopy

Responsibilities

  • Generate and develop new accounts and effectively manage existing accounts
  • Present to small and large audiences including C-suite executives, production and lab managers, and technicians
  • Qualify opportunities, develop and present proposals, and close business
  • Travel up to 50-60%, including overnight, for meetings, demonstrations, and installations
  • Drive sales growth in microwave-assisted synthesis and digestion systems
  • Promote FTIR and Raman spectroscopy product lines to industrial and academic customers
  • Provide consultative solutions for analytical chemistry applications
