In RDS R&D Reagent Research & Design - Chemistry Solutions, set new chemical benchmarks using modern synthetics and analytical methods. Design and develop chemical assay components for Diagnostics and Pharma. Provide chemical solutions for diagnostic questions across the product portfolio.

The team of nine with technical and scientific backgrounds works on organic chemical and biochemical syntheses, focusing on internal standards, metal complexes, and dye chemistry. Apply agile, goal-oriented approach to develop tailor-made molecules for customers. Enjoy fun at work too.

Accompany the whole lifecycle of active diagnostic ingredients with expertise and broad methods. Focus on synthetic chemistry in R&D for diagnostics. Position limited to 2 years with willingness to work with hazardous substances.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree in chemistry and PhD in organic chemistry
  • Expert in preparative organic synthesis, particularly complex organic molecules, isolation and purification methods
  • Good knowledge of dyes chemistry and their applications
  • Experience in design and production of high-quality substances with creativity and care
  • Responsibility for operation of laboratory equipment such as MPLC, HPLC, or LC-MS
  • Experience in project management
  • Communicating in English as part of daily routine
  • Ability to work in a team and reliability

Responsibilities

  • Research and development of reagents in the field of organic chemistry
  • Perform chemical syntheses to provide complex molecular structures, particularly in metal complexes and dyes chemistry as well as precursors
  • Production, isolation, purification, characterization, and functional evaluation of chemical or biochemical molecules
  • Characterization and evaluation of synthesis products using NMR, HPLC, MS and handling complex physico-chemical equipment
  • Documentation and presentation of results
  • Ensure cross-site communication within an international project team
  • Compliance with safety and environmental protection regulations and work according to quality guidelines
  • Additional responsibility for general tasks such as maintenance and servicing of equipment
