About this role

Research Associates perform reactions on mg to gram scale and work independently under the guidance of the leader. They independently support the scientific team with instrumentation and equipment operation and maintenance. They are able to understand and interpret various instruments like NMR, Mass, and HPLC.

Handle instrument purification such as Combi flash, big columns, column packing, and decide the mobile phase for purification. Independently manage all types of glassware assembly arrangement, reaction reagent charging, maintaining temperature, nitrogen etc. Understand written instructions from scientists, including patents and reprints where the procedure is highlighted.

Senior roles lead, mentor, and develop a team of chemistry scientists in a collaborative environment. Drive multiple synthetic chemistry projects with a focus on quality, timelines, and cost. Provide technical leadership on complex synthesis, route design, and troubleshooting while acting as primary client interface.

Maintain meticulous documentation, proper data management, and record books for work done like purification or reaction. Uphold lab safety standards and promote continuous training and skill development. Support recruitment and organisational growth initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Organic Chemistry with 1-2 years of experience in the CRO Industry
  • PhD/Post Doc in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field
  • Strong organisational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities
  • Proven track record in managing complex chemistry projects from conception to delivery
  • Strong knowledge of organic synthesis, reaction mechanisms, purification techniques, and analytical methods
  • Experience working with clients, managing expectations, and delivering high-quality results
  • Proactive, highly motivated with a 'can do' attitude
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
